Bingo games helping raise money for Cancer Research

Cancer Research has had another little boost with the money raised from a local bingo game - £378.20 to be exact. Carew and Cresswell Quay local committee organised an exciting bingo game to help raise money for the charity at the Cressely Cricket Club. The usual catch phrases ‘eyes down’, ‘2 little ducks’, and ‘2 fat ladies’ were all called out on Wednesday, February 22nd by caller Liz Hydz who managed to make it a highly anticipated event!
Unlike online bingo sites they didn’t have bingo bonuses or seasonal promotions to get selling those bingo tickets but they had lovely little treats like boxes of chocolates and bottles of wine for the line and full house winners instead- which went down a storm with the players! There was also a buffet prepared for the guests who attended by the committee and there was also a raffle with prizes such as fruit baskets, hampers and flowers handed out to lucky winners. The night was a great success as not only did they raise some cash but they made it a very enjoyable evening for all who attended too. This shows you just what good communities can still do by coming together in a social event- it’s not all riots and crime these days.
If you want to give back too but haven’t time to get to your local bingo hall or organise a similar event then you would be surprised that some of the best bingo sites actually do their bit. For example, Sky Bingo are raising money for Rainforest Rescue by donating money for every ‘like’ they get on Facebook. Mecca Bingo also has a weekly promotion at the start of every month to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer by donating 45p of every £1 wagered to the cause.
